The 'non-negotiable' rules...

Confession,  I am not very good at rule #2.  I haven't eaten after 8:00 since Monday AND yesterday I passed over a beautiful array of festive desserts...but exercising...

I'm going to the doctor today for my foot, but really that is no excuse.  Why don't I ever EVER have the motivation to get on my back and do some crunches, pilates, etc...

Does ANYONE else have this problem?

Tips? Motivational thoughts?

I will always be ab-less if I keep this up...

Abby

P.S. It isn't helpful having a husband who has weighed the same for seven years straight and doesn't feel like he needs to give up desserts....

  1. Tell your husband its not about weight its about practicing self control and supporting you through your goals that you want to reach. Have him help you on the hardest one for you. Christopher is not doing desserts with me. I wish he would exercise but he hasn't really done that much since college.

Ok so the exercise thing. Its really simple and the simplest thing are always the hardest. Here it is . . . . You either do it or you don't. There is no real butt kicker that is going to make you do it. Of course it is always helpful if you have a friend (or husband) pushing you. I have sat on the couch so many times dressed and ready to go run but I just sit there. In my head I am telling myself "just go, just go" but most of the time lately gravity wins out and I just sit there and make up some excuse.

I have exercised everyday this week and it has been really hard. I made a chart and put it on the fridge and the only reason I have worked out is because I really want to put a X on the chart saying I completed my goal. It makes me feel really good. So for now my motivation is the X. I really want to have all my X's at the end of this month. I think a really good motivation for you is your MARATHON!!! I know your foot is hurt but you gotta keep moving. Maybe you should get your own chart and put it on your fridge so you have to look at it everyday. Think of little rewards you can give yourself at the end of each week.
Know that at least I am doing this with you!! Even if we are not close you could still call me everyday and we can motivate each other. I haven't worked out yet today and I am soooo sore my butt feels like its been used as a punching bag in a boxing class. So today I am going to work on upper body stuff. I haven't figured out wen I will do it probably when Christopher gets home and he can be in charge of the babes. Work out with me Abs! Just decide to do it. There is no other secret.

Good job on the other non-negotiables. I am struggling with desserts. I haven't caved yet but last night was hard at the BBQ I went to.

  2. Hi! Abby, I agree with Liza. Just suck it up like a true Welshman and do it! I SWAM FOR AT LEAST THIRTY MINUTES (I WAS TREADING WATER TO KEEP FROM DROWNING) AND JUMPED OFF OF A MOVING BOAT TO RESCUE ON OF MY MARATHON HATS THAT THE WIND HAD BLOWN OF INTO GO THE LAKE. I don't remember eating anything bad, but I don't remember alot of things these days.As an aside, Chuck E. Cheese scared the dickens out of Maggie. I don't like rats either. (dickens is a euphemism for the devil. It was first used in Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor). I'M STARTING TO REMEMBER RED LICORICE AND CARMEL COVERED BUGLES. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BUGLES. I ONLY AT PP.E ONE. (BAG) IT WAS A WEE, SMALL BAG.

  3. Can't wait to try those Bugles in August! Poor Mags. Those human sized rodents will do it every time. Glad you didn't lose your hat Dad.
